Never say never: Raleigh might soon welcome back a legend. After nearly 100 years in business, 42nd Street Oyster Bar closed its doors in March—but reports now say a reopening could be just months away. The new ownership group, 42nd Street Partners LLC, includes longtime GM Hunter Correll (at the helm since 1996) and landlord John F. Holmes Jr., president of Hobby Properties. For updates, their Facebook page looks to be the go-to source. Word is they’re targeting a February comeback.

Taco lovers, rejoice: Barrio Tacos, Tequila & Whiskey is (finally) opening in downtown Raleigh’s Smoky Hollow this Friday, August 22. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the first 50 people in line score free queso for a year. This marks the chain’s first North Carolina location after earning national recognition as one of the top 10 taco stands in the U.S. Known for their tacos and an extensive tequila, whiskey, and beer selection—keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.
